Pet it
Rub it gently with your cursor and it closes its eyes and sends up hearts.
Type and a seed pops out
Seeds appear as you type. It nibbles some and stuffs the rest in its cheeks.

Saved seeds pile up in its house. Click the house to take one out, then hold it up to its mouth.
A nap while you're away
Step away for a minute and it digs a nest and falls asleep. It wakes up when you're back.
And while you work
Take breaks together
Right-click the hamster, choose Break Together, then click the little clock. Focus for 25 minutes, then rest for 5 together.
Points out big unused apps
When memory runs low, it shows memory-heavy apps you're not using. It asks an app to quit, the normal way, only after you pick it and confirm.
File drawer
Drop files on the hamster to keep them in its drawer. Drag a row onto another app to use the file. The original stays where it is.
Safe to keep around
No monitoring permissionsIt works without Accessibility, Screen Recording or Input Monitoring access. It asks about notifications only if you turn them on.
It never sees what you typeOn a Mac it reads only how many keys were pressed; on Windows, only when you last typed. Never which key.

First launch on Windows
Hamdori is a new app from a solo developer, and its Windows installer isn't code-signed yet, so SmartScreen may show a warning and "Unknown publisher". The steps below are for the "Windows protected your PC" screen.
- Open the Hamdori installer you downloaded.
- When "Windows protected your PC" appears, click "More info".
- The publisher shows as "Unknown publisher". If you downloaded the file from this site, click "Run anyway".
- When setup finishes, Hamdori appears in the corner of your screen. Enter the key from your receipt.
On Windows 11 PCs with Smart App Control turned on, the installer may be blocked. Your key isn't activated yet then, so you can get a refund. Download the installer only from this site.
Questions
When does it go online?
Only in two cases: when you activate your key, it checks your license, and when you press "Check for updates" (right-click the hamster, then Open Panel), it looks for a new version. It never goes online on its own otherwise.
How does it know I'm typing without monitoring permissions?
It uses only what the system tells any app: on a Mac, how many keys were pressed; on Windows, when you last typed. It can't know which keys or what you wrote.
Does it close apps by itself?
No. When memory is full it only shows candidates. An app is asked to quit normally only after you pick it from the list and click "Close". If a document is unsaved, that app asks you to save it. There is no fake "memory cleaning".
Will it slow my computer down?
It draws less often while nothing is happening, and keeps quiet while a meeting or video app is in front.
Can I buy on my phone?
Yes. Your receipt email has your key and the download link. Open it on your computer later.
Does it run on Intel Macs?
No. Hamdori currently supports Apple silicon Macs (M1 and later).
How do I reinstall it?
Get the latest version from the download page any time. Your key is in your receipt email.
What if I change computers?
One key works on up to 3 computers. If you need more, email us and we'll free up an old one.
